Security
Security controls for WhatsApp-based team memory.
Retena is designed to keep workspace data separated, access scoped, and sensitive workflows reviewable. Security is a continuous practice, not a one-time claim.

Workspace isolation
Retena separates customer workspaces so one organization cannot browse another organization's messages, transcripts, contacts, settings, or billing data.
- Workspace membership controls which users can access shared content.
- Private chats require a share request and admin approval before appearing in the team workspace.
- Workspace owners can remove shared private chats or groups from the team workspace.
Access controls
Access is based on authenticated accounts, workspace membership, and role-aware settings. Retena supports account security controls such as two-factor authentication when configured for the workspace.
- Admins manage team invitations, shared chat approvals, billing, and workspace settings.
- Members receive access according to the workspace role assigned by an admin.
- Active sessions and connected WhatsApp status are visible in settings when available.
Data handling
Retena processes selected messages, voice notes, contact names, phone numbers, usage logs, and workspace settings to provide the product. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and protected with access restrictions in our application and infrastructure.
Automated processing is used for transcription, search, summaries, translation, and quality review. Retena does not expose internal model or provider names in the product experience.
Operational safeguards
- Production changes are verified with scoped checks before release where practical.
- Critical workflows are monitored for capture, processing, search, privacy, and billing health.
- Incident and quality signals are separated so a review signal does not automatically imply an outage.
- Secrets are not exposed in user-facing pages, logs intended for users, or public documentation.
Customer responsibilities
Retena is a tool. Customers are responsible for choosing which conversations to connect, informing participants when required, managing their team members, reviewing important outputs, and using Retena in compliance with applicable laws and workplace policies.
